Chinese Massage in Newcastle: What to Expect at Lisa's on Pink Lane

Most massage you'll find in Newcastle is spa-style: soft music, light oil and long, gentle strokes. That has its place. But if you've ever come out of a session wishing the therapist had actually worked on the knot in your shoulder, Chinese massage might suit you better.
At Lisa's Massage, Lisa is trained in traditional Chinese massage. Here's what that means, what a session involves, and how to find us on Pink Lane in the city centre.
What is Chinese massage?
Traditional Chinese massage, often called tui na, has been practised in China for centuries. Where a relaxation massage glides over the surface, Chinese massage is more hands-on and purposeful. The therapist uses pressing, kneading, rolling and stretching movements along the muscles to work into areas that feel tight.
It's firmer than most spa treatments, but it shouldn't hurt. Your therapist will check the pressure with you as they go, so tell them if you'd like it lighter or deeper.
Who it suits
People usually come to us because something feels stiff, tight or tired. Common reasons include:
Desk work: shoulders that creep up towards your ears after a week at a laptop
A stiff neck: from screens, phones or a bad night's sleep
Back tension: after long drives, lifting or standing all day
Stress: when you just need an hour away from everything
We welcome both men and women, whether it's your first massage or you have one every month.
What happens in a session
When you arrive, we'll ask what's been bothering you and which areas you'd like us to focus on. You can tell us about anything you'd prefer we avoid.
Your massage then works through the areas you've chosen, with pressure adjusted to suit you. Afterwards, take a moment before heading back out. We offer free hot and cold drinks to every client, so there's no need to rush.
Treatments and prices
Treatment | Length | Price |
Chinese massage | 1 hour | £50 |
Chinese massage | 90 minutes | £80 |
We also offer head massage, foot massage and full body massage. Call us for prices and to choose the right one for you.
Which length should I book? One hour is plenty for a focused session on your back, neck and shoulders. The 90-minute session gives time to work through the whole body without rushing.
